Problem
Shared-household chore apps fail the same way: the list is accurate and nobody looks at it. Tracking is not the hard part — sustaining attention is.
Solution
Tie completion to a single shared stake instead of individual scores. One virtual pet's health reflects the whole household's follow-through and visibly degrades when the chores lapse, and tasks distribute automatically by each person's capacity.
Overview
ChoreMate (ChorePet) is a collaborative household task management app that gamifies chore completion through virtual pet mechanics. Completing assigned chores earns points toward a shared digital pet's health — the pet visually reacts based on its wellbeing, from happy animations above 90% to critical distress below 20%. Features automated task distribution based on individual capacity, configurable difficulty ratings, and completion frequency tracking. Built as a full-stack team project where I owned the backend.
